This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
New Century Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is going to conduct high throughput crystal structure determination of protien-compound complexes using NSLS synchrotron facility. The strucutre of the native protein is already known. Due to the space group of the crystals (triclinic), it takes about 3 days to collect one dataset on the in-house Rigaku/MSA x-ray equipment. Large number of complexes quickly saturates the capacity of our home sources. Using NSLS beamlines, we are hoping to have quicker turnaround on X-ray data collection. This in turn will significantly increase the throughput and spped up the research process and rational drug design efforts.
