英文摘要
To date, we have received whole blood, plasma, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 10 patients at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In collaboration with investigators at the University of Pittsburgh, including Drs. John Mellors and Jana Jacobs, we have detected CoV-2 RNA in the majority of samples. All infectious samples are being tested at the University of Pittsburgh and we intend to receive only lysed, noninfectious samples at NCI-Frederick. In future experiments, we intend to evaluate longitudinal samples to investigate the dynamics of CoV-2 RNAemia in patients. We will also sequence the virus in the patient samples to determine if there are any specific mutations that may be associated with higher levels of viremia.
