The research activities of three investigators at the Département de biologie are the focus of this Research Tools and Instruments grant proposal.  All three groups have a strong emphasis on the study of various molecular aspects of mammalian cell function.  Thus, the research programs of all three investigators depend heavily on the use of cultured cells.  Although there is already a basic platform unit adapted to perform these tasks in the Département de biologie, the need to expand and upgrade this infrastructure is timely.  The requested instruments will thus serve to for such purpose, and it will be housed in a common cell culture facility housed in the new "Pavillon des sciences de la vie" at the Université de Sherbrooke.
