英文摘要
This application for NSERC equipment funding is to acquire a stereotaxic frame and micromanipulators for neuroanatomical tract tracing experiments in the Green monkey described in a funded NSERC research program entitled: Cortical pathways for multisensory integration. This is a basic piece of equipment that will be necessary for the fulfillment of the research objectives funded by NSERC. Stereotaxic coordinates obtained with a high standard stereotaxic frame is needed for the precise application of neuroanatomical tracers and for the preparation of a stereotaxic atlas of the Green monkey brain. The Model 1404 Stereotaxic Instrument can be used for a wide variety of animals from primates to mice. The 1404 model consists of a Kopf Model 1430 stereotaxic frame, four model 1460 three-dimensional electrode manipulators, and each with a model 1770 Standard electrode holder; also included are a model 1210 mount base plate, model 1225 Universal swivel stand, Model 1245 Cat/Monkey adaptor with adaptor plate and one set of Model 851 Standard solid ear bars. In addition to this basic equipment we ask for a Model 865 35 mm offset ear bars and riser block allowing for temporal surgical approaches which will be useful for placement of tracer injections in the auditory cortex in monkeys. We request also a Model 1211 Base plate. This is a portable mounting plate weighing only 7 lbs with a socket for mounting the frame.
