The primary goal of this research project is to use advancedmathematical models that are based on recent experimental andclinical observations to help to improve current treatmentstrategies of cancer. Specifically, I plan to consider (i) optimaldesign of radiation treatment protocols based upon microbiologicalinformation, (ii) mechanistical modeling of cancer cell movement andspread in human tissue, and (iii) to develop new mathematical modelsand techniques related to (i) and (ii).
