The objective of the proposed research is to develop parallel programming tools and techniques for data intensive computation. Data intensive computing is the use of high performance computing techniques for the capturing, managing and analysis of large quantities of data. The proposed research is a combination of the design and implementation of new systems, system integration and the investigation of new parallel algorithms and techniques for cluster computing with multicore processors. The overall goal of this research is to apply parallel programming using the latest technologies to solve real-world problems associated with data intensive computation.
