This research will include measurements of the concentrations of greenhouse gases and air pollutants in the atmosphere and the assimilation of these measurements into large scale, comprehensive models of the atmosphere. The applications of the research are to the fields of climate change and air pollution and space remote sensing of atmospheric properties. For these studies, we will use two different instruments that are being developed currently in our research program. These will be applied to the measurement of atmospheric trace gases and particles.
