Metal and mercury contamination is a world-wide issue. My NSERC-funded research program examines how mercury and toxic metals are transferred in aquatic food webs from various sources in the Canadian Great Lakes basin as well as the Patagonia Lakes District. My research group is also developing global food web models to improve our understanding of food web ecology and implications of metal contamination from natural and anthropogenic sources.
