项目摘要

Sightline Innovation is developing a flexible C4ISR (command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) platform built around the core capability of mission specific configurability. The first target application is "Search and Rescue" operations and the initial use case being covered is using radar imagery to assist in locating a missing aircraft in the event of a serious aviation incident over a large body of water. This concept has received dramatic interests from CF (Canadian Forces) in the context of using radar imagery from the RADARSAT2 spacecraft as input to the C4ISR application. However, CF Search and Rescue officials have noted that the timeliness of the data is key to maximizing its value. As such Sightline Innovation plans to explore the feasibility of developing an airborne sensor that can provide real-time information for flight crews using an on-board system and offer more effective Search and Rescue data output than available with other airborne and space-based radar systems.
