The broad objectives of this research are to develop accurate mathematical models for electromagnetics (EM) interactions with complex media, and to investigate their solutions, in order to understand their properties and to use the acquired information for design of novel sensors and antennas, and real and artificial materials that can improve the performance of current designs and enable the design of the next generation EM hardware with superior performance. A few specific areas will receive more and detailed attention.
