项目摘要
This proposed project will investigate a set of enabling technologies to provide seamless, reliable, and secure information delivery services over heterogeneous wireless networks. To support ubiquitous information access in an anywhere, anytime, and anyhow fashion, cooperative intelligence will be incorporated to effectively integrate various wireless access networks. The proposed research will address significant technical challenges including network heterogeneity, mixed user population of single-mode or multi-radio terminals, multihop end-to-end transmission, high network dynamics, and error-prone lossy channels. In particular, the project will develop (i) a generic network information gathering and assimilation scheme to facilitate network cooperation, (ii) an effective networking framework for cooperation among heterogeneous wireless networks, (iii) adaptive service provisioning mechanisms for seamless service delivery via multiple wireless networks, and (iv) efficient message exchange mechanisms for secure communications with authenticated cooperation. It will develop networking protocols and control algorithms critical for connecting mobile users ubiquitously over a cooperative transport platform with different wireless access technologies.
