Using various techniques from applied mathematics and numerical analysis, we will investigate mathematical models that have application to alternative energy systems such as fuel cell or solar based energies and extract practical results for appropriate application developments. These investigations come at a critical time when dependencies on fossil fuels are exceeding the current levels of production. As well, as society begins gravitating towards a stronger conviction to environmental preservation, there is a wider acceptance of the alternative energy systems in all areas of everyday life. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to continually study the practical results that can be obtained by a thorough analysis of the processes inherent to these various systems.
