e-City platform: knowledge supply chains for context-aware, multi-project sustainability analysis of sustainable infrastrucutre systems

The proposed research program aims to create an e-city platform for knowledge brokerage in the green city. The platform will allow presenting contextual knowledge of each and provide a venue for creating knowledge supply chains to harness the collective intelligence of knowledge hubs to manage multi-project sustainability analysis. Knowledge of participating hubs will be presented in three dimensions: human profile, process structures, and software systems. These three facets of knowledge will be accessible through self-describing mechanisms. Cities can post their geospatial data along with their sustainability analysis bids online. Social networking, work flow automation and software interoperability protocols will be used to match the knowledge facets of participating hubs, reconcile contextual differences and build dynamic, scalable, distributed knowledge supply chains to conduct the analysis.
