Celebrating 40 years since accreditation, the Queen's School of Computing is internationally recognized for software research and education and is home to the NSERC RIM Industrial Research Chair in Software Engineering for Ultra Large Scale Software (ULSS) Systems. The School is part of a larger software research community in the Kingston, ON area, including strong ties with the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Queen's and at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC). The School also has a global focus on the explosive international growth in ULSS development with frequent collaborative visitors from around the world, including, among others, the Fraunhofer Institute (Germany), Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Italy) and the Software Engineering Institute (USA).
