The computer industry is facing a dilemma: there is a huge and steadily increasing demand for datacentre computing capability, but the energy, space, and cooling requirements of these datacentres is straining an already-fragile electrical grid and threatening the environment. Harnessing technology originally developed for mobile applications, emerging low-energy, high-density hyperscale computer systems are a solution to this dilemma.
