Simpson Environmental Corporation (SEC), a Canadian water treatment equipment manufacturer with head office in Burlington, Ontario, is looking for an innovative but cost-effective technology to remove aluminum and other metals from drinking water. This need has recently become urgent because of new business opportunities that are opening up for the company in three municipalities located in the Kola Peninsula, Northwest Russia. In the three municipalities (Kirovsk, Apatity and Monchegorsk), approximately 130,000 people currently have problems with their drinking water including elevated aluminum concentrations (up to 7 times the maximum permissible concentration of 0.2 mg/L) in the finished drinking water.
