The Canadian mining industry's ability to exploit mines and produce value-added mineral products will depend on the optimization of mine operation, environment and sustainability, and energy efficiency to ensure continued competitiveness . Sustainability must be part of all mining projects from exploration through operation and closure, which implies the use of clean technologies, reducing energy consumption and reduction of emission and effluent discharge to the environment. Therefore, use of advanced technologies to improve efficiencies from exploration to final product is a must.
