In close collaboration with engineers from Price Industries Limited, a leading manufacturer of air distribution and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in North America, this research project will provide a thorough understanding of the complex flow dynamics associated with turbulent jets produced from various nozzle geometries and also in chilled beams. This type of flow has diverse environmental and engineering applications, including HVAC systems, industrial waste disposal, heat transfer augmentation and thrust producing devices. In most of these applications, an efficient entrainment of the ambient flow and its mixing with the core jet is essential.
