Canadian agriculture generates more than $40B in revenues each year with field crops accounting for close to half of that total. It provides employment to nearly 400,000 people across the country. Canada also features a dynamic agricultural machinery industry with gross annual revenues of about $3B. Economic, energy, environmental, health and safety, and social considerations need to be considered for the development of adapted and sustainable mechanization systems in production agriculture.
