英文摘要
Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) are a rapidly evolving area of great commercial interest to Canada. Canada's leading company in BCI, InteraXon, has spent years designing and testing a system to allow users to control their computers and mobile devices wirelessly, based on a proprietary analysis of real-time fluctuations in neural activity measured through electroencephalography (EEG). To date, the device, known as the MUSE, has been tested and refined on younger users. However, seniors are the fastest growing segment of Canada's population, so to maintain its competitive advantage, InteraXon must ensure that the system can be adapted to older users as well. Working with McMaster's Dr. Sekuler and her lab, InteraXon will determine how the current calibration and information control systems function given the constraints of age-related changes in sensory processing and neural signals. Given previous work in Dr. Sekuler's lab, it already has been established that vision, audition, and neural processing changes dramatically throughout our lifetimes. Thus, the MUSE
