项目摘要
Intravenous gravity pumps are used to deliver vital body fluids (blood, saline, etc) and high risk medication. These infusion pumps consist of an infusion bag containing the sample fluid mounted on a pole. Although these gravity pumps are used in hospitals, home care settings and emergency vehicles, they have operational limitations. The pumps must be mounted at an elevated height relative to the patient to ensure that a stable amount of fluid is delivered. The elevated height creates the pressure responsible for forcing the fluid out. Any change in the height of the infusion bag or movement of the patient would change the amount of the fluid that is being delivered. This is not suitable for the safe administration of small volumes of chemical/drugs for medication and can cause severe consequences to the patient, even death. Commercial automated pumps that overcome this limitation are very expensive and always require an external power source. This makes the usage
