项目摘要
We are designing new drugs that can combat cancer. These drugs are based on natural proteins, which are abundant in
your body and make your body function. We take these building blocks and design super protein drugs. One of our drugs
interferes with a known problem in cells that can lead to cancer. Our team is now focusing on how to use nanotechnology,
which are tiny carrier particles that can deliver the drug to cancer cells. Once inside the cells, the drug can interfere with
cancer networks. We have shown that our strategy can work in human cancer cell experiments, and we are now aiming to
test our drugs in mice. The Canadian company BioVectra is our partner and is involved in our studies with the hope of
advancing our new drug to human cancer patients. They are also excited to work with us, because we can take the concepts
described in this work and design additional drugs targeting other proteins that cause problems in many human diseases.
