英文摘要
Solantro Semiconductor Corporation is partnering with Prof. Liam Peyton (uOttawa) to understand how agile software methodologies apply to behavior-driven control functions that address the variability problem of renewable photovoltaic (PV) electrical power. PV power fluctuates with the available local sunshine so it is inherently not matched to the generally varying load demands. Solantro has developed a power architecture technology to dynamically match generation and load within a local electrical grid - a nanogrid - using their innovative alternating current inverters for both PV panels and advanced batteries. These intelligent devices work autonomously, yet in a complementary fashion, to maintain a stable grid with good power quality. To do this in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, with the minimum amount of PV panels and batteries, requires load demand to be prioritized and sometimes deferred to match PV generation and battery state of charge conditions. This challenge requires a software solution that implements a model-driven hardware/software co-design to ensure system stability across a complex set of load/generation scenarios. The result will be an effective power management approach that Solantro can scale and evolve to more complex consumer requirements.
