英文摘要
Baker Materials Engineering (BME) is a forensic engineering company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, organized to provide a wide range of analytical services to insurance, industrial, and legal clients. Recently, BME has expanded its focus on human injury and injury causation and is looking to provide clients with a new range of services in injury prevention and risk assessment. Concussion related injuries represent a growing portion of litigation cases and defendants face a difficult challenge in demonstrating their competency and appropriate action in preventing injury and mitigating against long term health problems for the injured individual. The objective of this project is to develop a risk assessment algorithm to define and quantify the risk of concussion for organizations responsible for adolescents aged between 13 - 18 y.o. (schools, sporting organizations etc). Once established within an organization, the risk assessment program will continually reduce the health and financial risks to the organization and to the individual associated with the concussion injury.
