Located in Mississauga, Ontario, Mersen Canada Toronto Inc. (http://ep-ca.mersen.com) is a leader in the electrical power
industry, manufacturing a variety of electronic components including fuses, switches, power resistors, DC bar contactors,
laminated busbar and heat sinks. The growing use of electricity has led to an increased need for heat sinks to cool high power devices, such as converters and electric motors. This presents the opportunity for companies like Mersen to increase
their output and merge into the high volume production market, allowing them to create more jobs and earn higher
profits. Currently, Mersen uses a swaging process to produce high quality heat sinks and is seeking to optimize this process
in partnership with Dr. Wu at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. A solution will be driven by the development of a
Finite Element (FE) based model to accurately simulate the swaging process. The model will facilitate improvements to both
the process as well as component design with emphasis on increasing production efficiency and eliminating current issues.
(http:ep-ca.mersen.com)是电力行业的领导者
