项目摘要
Researchers in the Environmental Engineering Group in the Department of Civil Engineering are seeking to replace a broken and obsolete High Temperature Combustion (HTCO) instrument (Lachat IL-550 TOC) purchased in 1995. This replacement instrument is vital to new environmental research dealing with emerging contaminants and complex matrix backgrounds including several types of municipal and industrial wastewater, as well as contaminated drinking water. This instrument is critical as researchers at UBC are making leading-edge contributions to environmental engineering where carbon and nitrogen constituents are routinely determined in support of research on natural water, urban run-off, wastewater, leachates, sediments, soils, sludges and industrial by-products.
