Successful operations of any equipment depend on its proper maintenance. This is even more important in the case of large and heavy machinery such as mining and off-highway trucks, as well as shovels, dozers, loaders and graders. The problems and issues associated with maintenance of the earth moving equipment are a major concern of Suncor Energy Inc. Suncor possesses one of the largest mobile equipment developments in North America. The fact that this equipment is in operation 24/7 means that the scale of maintenance-related problems and their distinctiveness are significant. Any improvements in operations of the company's fleet make a significant impact on the mining productivity and the plant-wide profits.
