This NSERC Engage proposal represents an exciting collaborative opportunity between a leading Canadian biotechnology company that specializes in diagnostic platform development (bioLytical Laboratories) and a Canadian university-based research team, located at the University of Victoria, with novel expertise in syphilis diagnostic antigen discovery and development. The proposal focuses upon the adaptation of previously identified, highly sensitive and specific syphilis diagnostic antigens to the diagnostic platform utilized by bioLytical, and the subsequent analysis of the performance of these proteins in bioLytical's novel platform.
