MetaFLO Technologies is a Mississauga, Ontario-based leading service provider for treating liquid wastesthrough innovative, environmentally friendly chemistry and unique reagent delivery systems. The MetaFLOTechnologies was developed in 2003 for profitable chemical production and delivery systems operation,research, business development and marketing that employs 7 full-time year-round employees and providesupplies and solutions for effective treatment of liquid waste streams with the least amount of risk andenvironmental impact and is been in operation all over North America and Australia with new application inUK and Europe. While the MetaFLO Technologies' vision is to enhance the technology, finding potentialbeneficial reuse of the solidified materials became a crucial topic. The company-specific problem is if thesolidified liquid waste or often called as 'excess soil' can be reused solely or in mixture with other growthmedium for agricultural applications. It is reasoned that solidified materials with finer textures andenvironmentally safe water absorbing chemicals can improve the water and nutrient holding capacity of soiland thus can maintain or improve crop production. Greenhouse pot experiments that analyze a range of soilphysical and chemical properties and evaluate seedling growth can be done with university of Guelph and willbe the scientific basis for characterizing change in soil physical and chemical health. . The company willbenefit from better knowledge on the potential beneficial reuse of solidified materials for agricultural purposesand support of their circular economy model as well as contribution towards mitigating climate change. TheEngage project will provide MetaFLO Technologies with necessary information leading to market advantages.
