The purpose of this project is to determine an appropriate model to characterise the changes to uranium tailingswith time. The study will focus on the creep characteristics of the fine tails, which has been observed inprevious (unpublished) studies. By better understanding the creep behaviour of the tails, it is expected that amore realistic model for sedimentation, consolidation and changes to the in-situ hydraulic conductivity of thetails can be developed. This work will provide a basis for additional testing and monitoring programsconsidered necessary for understanding and predicting the full-scale, longer-term response of aqueousdeposited tails.
