This research focuses on imaging and tracking of moving objects using inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR)techniques. The primary objective of this project is the development of ISAR algorithms that produce highsystem performance for terrestrial and spaceborne platforms. Initial system specifications will be developedalongside MDA Systems, Vancouver. Once the algorithms are optimized test setups will be developed in thelab in order to get real-world radar measurements and process them with the developed algorithms in order todemonstrate full system functionality. MDA Systems engineers will be engaged throughout the project. MDASystems will receive direct benefits extending beyond the lifespan of the project. In the short term, the projectprovides MDA with a unique opportunity to use ISAR imaging methods for their surveillance systems.
