This research program is targeted at developing emerging energy-related processes that simultaneously improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon footprint. This is achieved by developing, implementing and testing advanced process systems and multiscale modelling tools. These tools will be used to design new materials and systems in the energy and manufacturing sectors and support the development of the next generation of CO2 capture technologies thus advancing the fight against global warming. Successful achievement of these research goals will advance the University of Waterloo's strategic research plan in Environment and Energy, Discovery and Design of Materials and Systems, and Manufacturing and Devices.
