During its second term the Chair will focus on developments and applications of unique non-invasive biomedical and non-destructive industrial diagnostic probe and imaging technologies pioneered during its first term: photothermal coherence tomography (PCT) for bone disease (osteoporosis) and small animal (mouse, rat) functional imaging; photoacoustic radar (PAR) multispectral imaging for fast early breast cancer screening; lock-in carrierography (LIC) imaging of electronic flaws affecting performance of optoelectronic semiconductor devices, mainly targeting solar efficiency improvement of industrial silicon photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and solar modules (panels); and quantum dot photovoltaic solar cell energy conversion mechanism studies for performance optimization using photocarrier diffusion waves.
