The proposed renewed chair research project activities will focus on the design and development of green aircraft , in which flight dynamics, flight trajectories optimization, parameter estimation, active controls and aeroservoelasticity play major roles. The multidisciplinary research activities will be oriented towards the development of strong combined expertise from these fields through two major axes, in which Dr. Botez has already acquired considerable expertise. In these axes, aircraft new modeling and simulation methodologies will be conceived for: (i) advanced flight dynamics and control for aircraft, including optimization of its flight trajectories; and (ii) morphing aircraft applications using active control technologies, and aeroservoelastic interactions. The research results will therefore be of interest to aircraft manufacturers, airliners, avionics equipment, flight modeling and simulation companies, as well as to research institutes and universities working in the aerospace field.
