项目摘要

Reliable, efficient, low-cost, and high-quality electricity supply is essential to improve and maintain high living standards in Canada. Existing electricity generation faces challenges such as environmental pollution, decline of indigenous energy supplies, aged energy infrastructure and increasing energy costs. New structure is expected to host distributed and renewable generation units (DG), energy storage devices, plug-in electric vehicles (PEV), load management controllers and grid-automation devices with seamless integration characteristics. The chairholder will focus on the challenges of the distribution system transition from traditional to smart, through addressing several operational issues such as protection, volt/var control, distribution system stability and charging/discharging PEV.
