Data is growing relentlessly. As such, individuals and organizations are relying more so than ever on extracting meaning from large data repositories. Managing gigantic data flows, probing massive repositories and speedily extracting value is becoming a major opportunity leading to one of the fastest growing sectors in the software industry. The need to grapple with large data is further affected by the diversity of environments in which instant analytical processing is required, ranging from ad-hoc mobile settings to teams of analysts. The proposed research in Ubiquitous Analytics involves the development of software tools and technologies to assist in the data analytics process, 'anytime' and 'anywhere'. Objectives include a) developing novel interactive visual interfaces for sense-making on various platforms, b) facilitating collaborative analytics, and (c) introducing novel evaluation metrics that transcend the limitations of current methods for testing the efficacy of analytic tools. The research is poised to have a significant impact on our digital economy.
