Mobile and wearable devices, such as smartphones and smartwatches, are fast becoming a viable computing platform. Building on this new wave of portable devices are inherently wearable personal health activities enabling individuals to collect and interact with such big and complex data on the go. While there are considerable market investments in the development of wearable hardware as well as health data analytics solutions, innovations in the software applications targeted at turning such data into actionable insight, which ultimately is the goal of any analytics solution, have been limited.
