The development of quantum information theory has contributed a plethora of novel technical tools and conceptual insights that enhance our understanding of fundamental physics, allowing problems in thermodynamics and quantum mechanics to be approached with unprecedented rigor and clarity. My work will build on these insights to create new and innovative perspectives on the foundations of physics. With the mathematical tools of quantum information, my research will advance our understanding of how microscopic and many-body quantum systems thermalize, in what ways quantum theory and spacetime constrain each other, and whether information is the fundamental building block of nature.
