This CRC in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Studies in Materials directs a leading international program in materials structure, properties, and applications. Recent key innovations from the laboratory include development of environmentally safe high-performance optical glass, improvements in concrete composites, and new computational methods for studying material response. Future work will be concentrated on increasing glass strength as an avenue to reduced carbon emission in manufacturing, wide bandwidth optical glass, and new theoretical methods of material simulation.
