英文摘要
Clean energy generation, storage, and conversion technologies are a crucial global priority. The proposed CRC research will target three energy conversion systems: 1) polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; 2) polymer lithium-ion batteries; and 3) adsorption refrigeration systems. The performance and reliability of these systems rely heavily on material morphology and the effectiveness of the transport of heat/mass/charge in the porous materials and associated interfaces that comprise the core of these devices. The proposed research aims to investigate material interaction and transport phenomena, and provide design tools to develop the next generation of efficient, durable, and low-cost sustainable energy systems.
