OMX or Offset Market Exchange (theomx.com) is an independent, third-party digital platform utilized to measure, track and report economic impacts from innovation and procurement projects. The platform is used to identify, track and manage complex supply chains, as well as calculate total social and economic impacts of programs, organizations and superclusters by leveraging economic impact multipliers from Statistics Canada. OMX empowers organizations from across industries to measure local spend, jobs created and total economic impacts on programs as well as estimate the potential impacts of future programs. The economic impact analysis predicts the effects of a variety of economic decisions on multiple investment programs and calculates leakage coefficients that measure the indirect as well as the direct effects of the importation of goods and services. Public and private sector entities use OMX to undertake procurement; and companies use it to bid on projects. With a growing number of organizations adopting this platform, there is an essential need for a sophisticated interface that takes into account the complexity of supply chain analysis and procurement. Customers grapple with dynamic, complex and multi-dimensional data and hence need precise visual analytics tools that can effectively display data and allow interaction. ****OCAD U's innovation will be to provide 1) interpretable and useful visualization insights extracted from multi-dimensional, scalable data to be integrated in the OMX Platform; 2) seamless, interactive, user-centric and user-experience design; and 3) a revamped platform that presents visual elements in the larger interface to communicate the synthesis of procurement and project management data. The OMX Platform will thus have the ability to display the economic impacts from procurement and supply chain projects metrics for all projects, along with enriched data insights and highlighting KPIs.**
