英文摘要
Stackpole International, part of the Johnson Electric Group, is a leading supplier of engine and transmission pumps and powder**metal components for automotive applications. It is a premier manufacturer of oil pumps and powder metal components, and**includes 12 manufacturing facilities and technical centres in North America, Europe, Asia, and Turkey. Stackpole Internationals**North American pump manufacturing processes have a track record for leading operational performance. Stackpole International**is the leading oil pump supplier for engines and transmissions in North America, in which they lead the optimization and**commercialization of variable displacement oil pumps. The company provide powertrain solutions, produce precision gear and**vane pumps for engines and transmissions, provide mechanical vacuum pumps and balance shaft modules, and produce**electrically driven auxiliary pumps. Additive Manufacturing opens the door to redesign and/or develop new materials for**automotive components to shorten the development cycle and reduce the manufacturing and product costs. The automotive**industry is seeking the development of new materials or new designs for the automotive components to achieve weight reduction.**Companies and research institutes have successfully applied various AM processes to manufacture functional components in the**automotive industry. Working together, Stackpole International and McMaster University team are aiming at investigating the use**of the AM technology for material development and design optimization of integrated electric motors with pumps at Stackpole**International -Engineering Products. This design optimization includes: topology optimization, volumes optimization, and mass**optimization for weight reduction and motor torque enhancement
