英文摘要
diagnostic test and therapeutic for endometriosis. Endometriosis is an immunologic condition that affects one in**ten women causing them to suffer daily debilitating pain, abnormal bleeding and infertility. The impact on quality**of life and productivity due to pelvic pain and infertility is extremely substantial. Unfortunately, this disease**remains misdiagnosed, misunderstood and ineffectively treated. SYNG Pharmaceuticals has engineered**proprietary antibodies for a newly discovered potential biomarker for endometriosis. It is looking for the**experienced partner to help develop a biosensor for a rapid test to diagnose the disease with adequate sensitivity**and specificity.**Professor Cynthia Goh from the University of Toronto, an expert in biomaterials, nanotechnology, and surface**chemistry has invented a new type of biosensors based on light diffraction. This technology was commercialized**by spinning off Axela Biosensors Inc. Her fundamental knowledge of biosensors enables to create a foundation for**the development of any immunoassay based diagnostic devices. The goal of this project is to develop a point of**care, easy to use prototype based on a lateral flow technique to perform instantaneous detection of**endometriosis. The success of this project will accelerate the market entry for SYNG Pharmaceuticals new**diagnostic device which, in turn, will assist the process of development and commercialization of endometriosis**therapeutic, a target that SYNG Pharmaceuticals aims to overcome in nearest future.
