The Carleton Technical Group for Instrumentation for Subatomic Physics consists of four technical personnel, and associated facilities, that allow for development, fabrication, prototyping, and large-scale integration and installation of detectors for subatomic physics research. The budget requested will continue to fund the four technical personnel, two designers; an electronics specialist; and a technician, who work at the facility.****The Carleton Group continues to support a number of important projects in subatomic physics across Canada both with and without participation from Carleton researchers. Included in these projects are the DEAP, EXO, and NEWS projects with close ties to SNOLAB; the ATLAS upgrade and ILC development work with close associations at TRIUMF and CERN; and the ARIEL project at TRIUMF. During the past three years the Technical Group has contributed to a number of additional projects and will continue to support subatomic physics projects across Canada in the coming years.****The proponents of this MRS grant request and the MRS request by the University of Victoria, along with the ongoing grant at Queen's University, will continue to operate under the administration of the common Prioritization Board. The function of the Board is to advertise and facilitate access to the MRS facilities by reviewing and prioritizing new requests for use of the facilities provided by the MRS funds. The Board ranks these requests based on standard NSERC criteria. The MRS managers at the institutes, working with the Board, use this ranking to assign MRS resources as they becomes available as on-going tasks are completed. Through regular meetings and formal updates from the managers, the Board is given information regarding the progress and status of on-going work undertaken by the MRS employees. The current board members are: Tom Mattison - Chair (UBC), Blair Jamieson - Secretary (Winnipeg), Akira Konaka (TRIUMF), Mike Roney (IPP Director/Victoria), Brigitte Vachon (McGill), Mark Boulay (Queen's), Kevin Graham - Carleton manager (Carleton), and Dean Karlen - Victoria manager (Victoria).**
