Lignin is an abundant, and renewable by-product with excellent thermal and flame-retardant properties that**could benefit the development of new sustainable thermoplastic composites. The main difficulties related to the**disaggregation and dispersion of softwood and hardwood lignin produced by FPInnovations were successfully**addressed by the previous Engage program. The company is very interested to further optimize this dispersion**techniques for their recently developed Hydrolized Lignin. The investigations during the previous Engage**program revealed an intriguing time-dependence of the elongation at break - a very important parameter- that**need to be elucidated.
