The human brain is a complex network of anatomically connected and functionally interacting neuronal populations. Collective signaling among these neuronal populations supports adaptive behaviour, while perturbations, such as stimulation-induced activity, spread from their source location via anatomical projections. Recent conceptual and technical advances, spearheaded by Dr. Misic and his team, provide the opportunity to understand how the network organization of the brain shapes dynamic biological processes. The proposed work will integrate network science and brain imaging to develop novel computational methods for predicting patterned functional interactions, individual differences in cognitive performance and the effects of brain stimulation.
