The proposed joint NSERC/OCE application will address this specific challenge identified by Aphria through the preparation of**novel polymers incorporating various cannabinoids of interest. The OCE component will focus on the development of**biodegradable and porous polymeric composites. The NSERC component of the project will focus on preparation of the polymeric**matrices, made of new polymeric materials and various cannabinoids of interest, identified by Aphria. Through a series of**characterizations, the project will investigate different physical and chemical parameters to rationally design new composites and**optimize their composition, mechanical properties and stability.
