Natural resources such as forestry, mining and energy are vital to provide innovative source of materials and energy to support a strong modern bio-social-economy. A key challenge resides in managing a sustainable usage of the resources as well as of their transformation and distribution into goods and services with both low environmental impact and high positive social and economic impacts. The proposed chair will together with industry and public organisations develop innovative and advanced decision support to optimize sustainable and integrated value chains and logistic operations. This includes new possibilities to support collaborative logistics, cross-chain coordination and planning under uncertainty.
