The chair will contribute tools for well-informed decision-making to natural resource sectors. Sectors such as forestry, mining, agriculture and energy are vital for providing innovative sources of materials and energy to support a strong, sustainable, and responsible modern bio-social-economy. Key challenges include collaboration, multiple stakeholders with conflicting objectives, integrated value chains, and many diverse data sources with varied quality. The chair aims to engage in collaborative logistics based on advanced engineering and business analytics to design and plan natural resource value chain networks to eventually increase competitiveness and efficiency, while sustaining its ecosystem services responsibly.
