英文摘要
Multicrete is company with over 25 years of experience specializing in applications of shotcrete in civil engineering applications. Shotcrete is cement based material, that is sprayed on structures to increase their strength. Multicrete uses shotcrete in many applications related to mining industry. This project will introduce new application for shotcrete as rehabilitation to corrugated steel culverts. Manitoba Infrastructure alone has hundreds of steel corrugated culverts that show signs of deterioration and will need to be either strengthened or replaced. Replacement of culverts can be very complicated, costly and time consuming. Using trenchless rehabilitation methods will allow for strengthening these structures with minimal impact on the traffic above the structure. Being able to address this need will provide Multicrete the necessary know-how to enter this new market and compete with other contractors. ****This project entails the construction and full-scale testing of a reinforced shotcrete liner applied over a deformed section of a large diameter corrugated steel plate (CSP) culvert. A simulated deformation will be created along the test section's longitudinal seam. It is assumed that an approximately 2 m length of the metallic shell is affected by the deformation. The CSP test section will have shear connectors attached to the underside of the plates, and a suitably designed reinforcement. The shotcrete will be applied over the reinforcement. The lined CSP test section will be placed in the culvert testing facility, instrumented and covered with a well compacted layer of granular soil with a depth of cover of about 0.5 m. It will be tested to failure under a centrally placed rectangular patch load representing the footprint of dual tires of typical trucks. The test will provide information on the liner's performance and the flexural rigidity of the reinforced metallic shell. This information will be useful in developing a procedure to design reinforced shotcrete shells that are effective in sustaining the effects of further distress.****
